To register for our repeat prescriptions online service please ask one of our reception staff to provide you with a letter containing a code number so that you can do this. Please bring some form of identification with you, ideally a passport or driving licence. If you don't have either of these then a utility bill addressed to you or a credit card with your name on it will be acceptable.

Repeat Prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions must always be first authorised by one of the doctors.

Each agreed repeat prescription will be for a months treatment at a time and may be ordered from reception in person, online or by post (please supply a stamped addressed envelope if you wish us to post your prescription).

You may like to use the counterfoil slip from your last prescription to re-order the items you need. Simply put a tick next to the medicines you need and cross out those which are not required.

There is also a collecting box in reception for repeat prescription requests.

You may also drop off your repeat request with either Charnock or Derbyshire Lane Pharmacies.

We no longer take prescription requests over the phone.

After several repeat prescriptions the doctor may ask you to come in for a check up or to discuss your treatment

Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines.  Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.

Please allow 48 hours, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, for your request to be processed. Any problems please telephone the surgery.
